2K Sports Brings the Magic to NBA 2K12

By | July 21, 2011|

Lakers legend Magic Johnson has been selected as one of the 3 cover guys for their wildly popular basketball video game series, NBA 2k12, is next in line. Coming out on October 4th, Magic Johnson will be sharing cover copies with the Celtics Larry Bird as the two superstars of the NBA’s golden age continue to be linked, along with Michael Jordan, cover man from last year.

We’re sure that this edition of NBA 2K12 will also feature some challenges that are unique only to Magic and Larry Bird. Imagine trying to match Magic’s Rookie performance in Game 6 against the Philadelphia 76ers or the hook shot over the Celtics in ’87. This is definitely something that we can’t wait for Lakers fans from around the world to send on over to us!

The cover artwork you see to the right has been created by Adam Larson, who is credited with work from Coca-Cola to Nike to the Black Eyed Peas.

Thanks to @2KSports for the Heads Up

does that mean they’ll include legendary games from magic and bird??  and various versions of the two like they did for MJ last year?

What happens during a lockout?  We end up playing “new” retro bball games with Magic/Bird.  I love the old school as much as anyone else, but COME ON… let’s end the lock out, please!
