Los Angeles has always been home to the biggest and most well known stars. People flock to LA for its sunny, warm weather, and celebrity appeal. It comes as no surprise that Kobe would come out and praise the only city he has ever played for.

The Lakers are notorious for their All-Stars, ranging from Wilt to Kareem to Shaq. Big name players have always been known to find their way to the sunny skies of Los Angeles. These big names have helped the Lakers win 16 championships and one of the most successful franchises in the NBA.

With all the recent drama surrounding the Lakers upcoming free agency in 2014 and 2015, Kobe has talked about the possibility of star players, such as Carmelo Anthony coming to Los Angeles. Kobe added to the fire to the speculation according to Lakers reporter Mike Trudell:

Carmelo is just one of the big names that the Lakers can sign this summer. With Kobe having only a few years left to win his much coveted sixth ring, he had some choice words regarding players leaving teams to chase rings:

Kobe seems to be on board with the Lakers chasing players such as Carmelo in 2014 and Kevin Love in 2015. The Lakers may be having a down season, but with the possible addition of one or two All-Star caliber players, they will be back in contention in no time.

D12 just can’t accept the fact that he was beaten by a superior team/athlete in 2009. Doesn’t want to learn new things… he will go down in NBA history as the biggest loser with currently being snubbed from ASG starters… this can only multiply from here on as his body starts to age and athleticism begins to wane. His partnership with the beard isn’t going anywhere… that team, is still too flawed to be a contender.

    Kobe’s right…

you need 12 deep talented, defensive minded players and not just 3 or 4 all stars cant win a title, its a team sport. it seems if they dont build an all star team b4 kob retires he wont win a title again, he won a title of his own signing a 2yrmax contrat.. haha. no wonder y dwight left he knew where this team going to lose to a long time..ohh well this sport is not based on history this is the present and fans dont care and players dont care about wins in the past they want to win now, and not 1 player in this team wants to win, freakein tanking is whats it called, they better get at least 4 top 10 picks if they are tanking…

build and all-star team around Kobe? When did that happen? the last time I looked Kobe has never player with an all star championship team… the most he played was with one all star… with Shaq.. and with Gasol…. Malone and Payton… were already years outside of their all star playing days….Kobe is the only player who has won multiple rings on multiple teams only playing with ONE all star… LBJ has Wade and Bosh… even MJ played with 2 all star in his championship years… Pip and Rodman wiere at the height of their careers that time…if I recall it right..

I know for a fact Shaq was the last free agent Superstar that signed with the Lakers.Hopefully the Lakers can entice a Superstar free agent to sign with them.

that is because the Lakers have been over the cap for so many years. nothing else.

Similar to the Lakers Championship teams of the past, the Lakers need very high quality players who have strong personalites, character, high basketball IQ, Talent, etc, Players that would blend together and consistently play individual and team Ball at the highest possible levels, Players that would produce the chemistry to match up with and beat the top teams in the NBA, and in the process bring championship(s) team(s) back to Los Angeles. I like to think this management will use their long past successful history and experiences to implement plans to again reach and achieve their championship goals once again. Timing is very important.
